We've been together for 5 years. Our stories may differ within this area. I guess my definition of the meeting was when I first saw her – that worked as a meeting for me. Sitting amongst friends, all she had to do was enter the room to attain immediate attention for everyone. Although she wanted nothing to do with me and literally blew me off for a number of years, we remained friends. I kept trying, but she was not having it. After losing touch and following life's path, we happened to cross path's down the line in Memphis.
To me, this most important thing to me is that we simply enjoy each other and appreciate who we are. We make each other laugh and have fun together. I love how strong of a person she is and how determined she is. She is very intelligent, loyal, and committed. Life has thrown challenges and some curve balls our way and we have looked at each other equally for support. We have chosen one another to work together through, and at the end of the day; I just enjoy her and who she is.
One major area that we have in common is the love for our city and home in New Orleans. We love spending time with our friends and family in New Orleans. We also both enjoy anything that involves us as a family where we get to spend time together. We both enjoy music and the beach, but always have a good time together so we are capable of enjoying most things we do together.
I proposed on Valentine's day at one of our favorite restaurants uptown New Orleans.
We made the day about us and that is what was important to me. Grasi and Dani (Rocker in Love) assisted in the naviagation to capture what we intended. So many feelings and emotions can get lost in an agenda and planned event – we wanted a day about us and day that aligned with our personalities. It was perfect.
Our relationship and wedding is the most true, real thing we know. We rely on our relationship to be able to work together everyday making things very real, so being able renovate those vows to one another was a special moment for us.
To be yourselves, have fun, and enjoy the moment and person you chose to go through life with.
An advice you would give to a bride planning a wedding?
Have fun with it.
